KIDDO: Physical Literacy Week
The Scale of Movement
Challenge
KIDDO and the University of Western Australia (UWA) partnered with our studio to develop the graphic identity for a new national initiative aimed at getting children moving. Supported by Healthway, this inaugural event needed to bridge the gap between academic physical literacy research and daily play. The primary challenge was creating a visual language that felt professional enough for educational institutions and PE specialists, yet remained vibrant, accessible, and "clear at a glance" for parents and children at home.
Outcome
We delivered a comprehensive visual system that empowered over 400 early childhood services and primary schools, reaching more than 37,000 children across Australia. By designing a cohesive suite of daily challenge packs, environmental graphics, and digital toolkits, we removed the "complexity barrier" typically found in academic programs. The result was a highly engaging, actionable initiative that received praise for its clarity and ease of use, successfully building movement confidence in thousands of children nationwide.

Strategy & Approach
Design for Utility & Engagement.
We designed a suite of Daily Challenge Packs intended for use in both high-energy classroom settings and quiet home environments. By prioritising high-readability typography and intuitive layouts, we ensured that activity instructions were easy to follow for both educators and families.
The heart of the project focused on three key areas of delivery
Print & Graphics.
From large-scale posters to educational handouts, we maintained a consistent visual thread. These assets helped schools transform their physical spaces into active learning zones, reinforcing the programme's identity throughout the school day.
Digital & Social Strategy.
To drive national participation, we developed a comprehensive social media toolkit. This allowed the KIDDO team to share the initiative’s message effectively across multiple platforms, ensuring a unified voice for the inaugural event.
The Result:
The initiative was met with high praise from both physical education specialists and parents, who noted that the clarity of the design made it exceptionally easy to engage with the daily tasks. By removing the "complexity barrier," the new visual identity empowered thousands of children to build the skills and confidence needed for an active life.
The success of the inaugural event established a high benchmark for future national initiatives, proving that strategic, user-centred design can effectively translate academic research into meaningful, real-world participation.
